3 Note: The maximum a taxpayer may claim from
all Fed home improvement energy tax credits combined is $1,500 over
the lifetime of the tax credit (2009-2010). This applies to 30% of
installed costs up to a $1,500 limit (including qualifying furnaces,
water heaters, a/c, insulation, etc.) and is retroactive to Jan. 1,
2009. Good on personal income taxes for installations in primary
residents only. This tax credit is part of the new American Recovery
and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
4 Note: Energy Trust no longer pays incentives
for gas furnaces that are used as backup for heat pumps, also known
as hybrid or dual fuel systems.
